About the Collection: The Edwin N. Hardy '87 Collection is a group of loose paper items from Hardy's four years at Amherst, from his 1883 Entrance Exam certificate to the 1887 Commencement program. The collection is interesting in that it is not mounted or attached in any kind of scrapbook, nor does it show any signs of having been removed from any kind of album, as most pieces of College memorabilia from that era are. About Edwin N. Hardy '21: Hardy was born in Nelson, New Hampshire March 1, 1861. He prepared for Amherst at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. After Amherst, he attended Hartford Theological Seminary and became a minister. He passed away in 1950 in Keene, New Hampshire.
